Prof. Ibrahim Muhammad, BA (Al-Azhar, Cairo), MA, PhD (BUK), SISA, AAIF.
Professor Muhammad is currently the Director, Centre for Qur’anic Studies, Bayero University, Kano. He has served in various capacities in the University and teaches at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He authored a number of scholarly books and journal articles in the area of Qur’anic education business and finance. Prof. Muhammad holds an Associate Award in Islamic Finance (AAIF) from Islamic Banking and Finance, Malaysia (IBFIM) and a certified Sukuk Issuance and Securities Analyst (SISA) certificate, Jordan. His research interest is on Islamic scholarship in Kanem-Borno and Qur’anic Sciences.

Prof. M.S. Zaharaddeen, BA (ABU) 1966, MA (Khartoum) 1970, PhD (Montreal Canada) 1976.
He is the Chairman, Advisory Committee of the Centre. He was a one-time Head of Department of Islamic Studies, Dean of Faculty of Arts and Islamic Studies, DVC and then Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano. He teaches Islamic modern development, Islamic movements and Sokoto Caliphate Literature. He served in various capacities in the public service as Commissioner of education, Chairman Civil Service Commission , Chairman Zakat and Hubsi Commission and Chairman, Shariah Commission, Kano State. He also served in various committees of the Federal Government as well as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council of University of Benin. He is presently the Grand Imam of Kano.

Prof. Abubakar Mustapha BA, MA, PhD

Muhammad Babangida Muhammad, BA (Ummul Qura, Makkah) MA, PhD (BUK). He is the Deputy Director, Programme and Training at the Centre. His areas of interest include Islamic Da’awah, Islamic History, Islamic Reform movements, Contemporary Islamic Development and Qur’anic Education. He was Permanent Commissioner in charge of Hisbah, Bauchi State Sharia Commission, 2001 -2007 and Provost A.D. Rufa’i College of Legal and Islamic Studies, Misau. 2009 – 2013.

Usman Sani Abbas, BA, MA, PhD (BUK). He is the Deputy Director, Research Documentation and Publication at the Centre. He teaches Tafsir and Islam in Nigeria and has interest in a number of disciplines such as Islamic Jurisprudence , Islamic education, Islamic Manuscripts , moral Philosophy and Research methodology.

Aliyu Harun Muhammad, BA (IUA Sudan), MA, PhD (UQI) Omdurman. He is the Deputy Director, Consultancy and Partnership Development at the Centre. His areas of specialization are the Qur’anic Sciences and Exegesis. Umar Abbas Abdulqadir, BA (IUA Khartoum), MA (KIIA, Khartoum), PhD (OIU Om Durman). He is a Senior Research Fellow with the Centre. He specializes in Qur’anic exegesis and has interest in history and development of Tsangaya. He teaches Qur’an in the Department of Islamic Studies and Sharia, BUK. Abdulmuin Ali Muhammad Geidi, BA (Al-Iman University Yemen), BA (Saba University, Yemen) MA, PhD (BUK). Aminuddeen Abubakar, BA, MA, PhD (BUK) is Senior Research fellow and has research interest in Islamic Da’awah, Sokoto Caliphate Literature and Islamic Jurisprudence. Taufiq Abubakar Hussain, BA (IUIU Uganda) MA (BUK) PDE (AKCILS) PhD (In-view BUK) has interest in Qur’anic recitation and Qur’anic exegesis. He is in charge of developing the IT section of the Centre in addition to handling administrative matters.

Abbas Muhammad Imam, BA (Madina) serves as Administrative officer of the Centre and handles staff matters and related assignments. He is the Deputy imam of Janbulo Jumaat Mosque.
